In 2020...
During our oldest daughter's high school career, she has been going through the Agriculture Program at our local high school, where she is going into her Senior year!
Over the last year, she has become more involved in FFA (Future Farmers of America) as well as working in Agriculture at a local farm store! With Kay learning so much, she has started some amazing little adventures at our home we bought in 2019.
Now the whole family is involved & we love learning about all the animals!
Through learning and skill building, our daughter has started little hobbies that have captured all of us! From always wanting a farm since she was 3 years old...to getting sheep for a school project... then starting a little garden (she didn't learn from her mother).
As a family, we have progressed quickly to homing 3 lambs, 2 pigs, 2 bunnies, 2 ducks, 16 chicks; almost ready to go out to the big coop and 3 laying chickens
(unfortunately we have a fox that likes to snack at our house).
So, As part of our daughter's school project, starting in 2022...
we got 2 sheep that were going to have babies! Unfortunately only one of the sheep was pregnant, but we got 2 babies out of one mama! Early on a February morning, Melvin and Maple were born in our little barn.
Melvin was strong and able to live in the barnyard with mom. Maple was not so tough, with failure to thrive and the need to bottle feed, our daughter had herself her DREAM bottle-fed lamb!
Oh the adventures, messes, late nights and diapers... yes DIAPERS! Maple is the friendliest of all our babies on the farm and loves to be scratched. She might even give you kisses!
Since we all live on the farm, everyone helps with the chores! As a blended family, all of us coming from a farming family, starting a small hobby farm was not a tough choice. Follow us for more on our farming adventure in Sanbornton, NH.
